Few in our world now doubt that there is a planetary crisis; what we doubt is our power to do anything meaningful about it. We turn away, avoiding news, seeking distraction or numbing out, unable even to talk about our concerns.
It is here, then, in this crisis of faith that we as Quakers, as members of the Religious Society of Friends of Truth, may best serve.
, first helping each other find the faith to act and to discern what it is that we each are called to do, and then bringing our traditional processes of clearness into the service of others in our communities and networks. If we are bold in our faith, we can step up to help those near and far to cope with the personal, political, strategic and spiritual challenges now upon us, finding their own faith and discerning their own path.
Throughout this website you will find the resources, answers, and actions now emerging to restore nature and to aid each other and all living things to survive and to thrive. As these emerging answers come together, we can see the ends we are to serve--a future both livable and viable-- taking shape. In these strategies we are looking for the best practices to move forward and the means to stand up to the powerful forces still working against these possibilities. May our efforts be strengthened not only by determination, but also by humility as we take our next steps, keeping open the way even in the darkest hour.
Many of us turn away, avoid news feeds, seek meaning or distraction elsewhere, or just numb out, unable even to talk about our concerns let alone act on them. Many, especially younger people, find themselves in outright despair, their own futures now so uncertain, even perilous.
