welcome friends
We're so glad you are here. You are part of a growing community of Friends from Pacific Yearly Meeting and beyond who are creating, collaborating and connecting about climate concerns and solutions for themselves, their Meetings and their communities. We in the PacYM Unity with Nature Committee have created this site with two thoughts in mind.
First, to provide the best resources we could to aid Friends and our Meetings in reaching clarity around what we are called to do in responding with Spirit-led action to the climate crisis. In support of such discernment we have selected and organized the best stories, solutions, tools and opportunities for engagement that we could find. We're seeking to stretch our imaginations, lift our hopes, find spiritual companionship in our concerns, and help us discern where "way is opening."
Second, we hope to help PacYM Friends share what they are currently doing, aspiring to do, or struggling with around care for Creation. We hope this site will make it easier for Friends from different Meetings with similar concerns to more easily find each other. See the Quaker Action Map to locate PacYM Meetings and see what others are doing, and share what you or your Meeting are doing on the Quakers in Action page.
If you have come upon this site but are not a Friend or don't know much about Quakers, welcome! You may want to start here to learn more. But please come back--all of Creation needs your help!
And if you are a Friend from outside of Pacific Yearly Meeting, we welcome you as well. Be sure to also visit the Quaker Earthcare Witness website to see how Friends across North America are engaging with climate concerns.
If you are from PacYM, here are a few places to start connecting with other Meetings, Worship Groups, individual Friends or the greater community to share what you are already doing or become inspired to pursue your own Creation Care concern.
